<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The DNR in cooperation with NRCS, USGS. DEQ and NGP delineated and computerized the boundaries of drainage areas that formed the basic hydrologic units needed for water resources planning and other uses. These basic hydrologic units were designed so they could be aggregated to many combinations of watershed or river basins. They have been integrated into the DWEE's computer data systems so they are available to all with the facilities to access the Natural Resources Data Bank. Water Divisions were extracted from the hydrologic units in accordance to Revised Statues 61-212 and 61-213 61-212. Water divisions; denomination. The State of Nebraska is here by divided into two water divisions, denominated water division No. 1 and water division No. 2, respectively. 61-213. Water division No. 1; boundaries. Water division No. 1 shall consist of (1) all the lands of the state drained by the Platte Rivers and their tributaries lying west of the mouth of the Loup River and (2) all other lands lying south of thee Platte and South Platte Rivers that may be watered from other superficial or subterranean streams not tributary to the Platte River.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
This dataset provides locational information related to the administrative boundaries used the administration of surface water rights in Nebraska. The purpose of this dataset is to support the statutory responsibilities of the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment (DWEE) related to water planning.
