Service Description:

A manually digitized thalweg across Nebraska for water features draining a minimum of 1 square mile. Digitizing was based off of the latest LiDAR (2012 - 2020) and aerial imagery (2020-2022) at the time.

The digitizing project is described in Mapping Activity Statement No. 37, dated June 14, 2019. It was completed in accordance with the Cooperating Technical Partnership Agreement dated August 16, 1999, between the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Digitizing was completed by Floodplain Management Division staff within DWEE from March 2020 to November 2023. This network is being used for regression equation development and updates to the Coordinated Needs Management Strategy planning database.
